​Motorsport, for most, is about speed, competition, and success.
For George and me, it is something far more meaningful — it is freedom, belonging, and the chance to build a future that once felt impossible.
 

From a young age, life was never straightforward. As an autistic child autism, he struggled to connect with the world around him in the way others did. Large crowds, social rules, noise, unpredictability — everyday life often felt overwhelming. Secondary School, in particular, became a painful experience, marked by bullying and emotional exhaustion. Soon after that losing his Grandpa was a big blow to George and he retreated further into his own world.
 

Then a casual visit to Teamsport changed his direction. Where the world felt chaotic, karting brought clarity. Where school made him feel different, motorsport made him feel accepted.

Racing gave George a confidence and purpose, something I had began to doubt would happen. Motorsport was the place where his mind became his strength.
 

Away from traditional classrooms, he was homeschooled — where learning could finally match the way he thinks. In karting, he found the same advantage. He could analyse lines, understand mechanics, study precision, and focus with incredible depth. It was a world where success wasn’t about fitting in — it was about tuning in to his unique way of thinking.
 

Every practise at the track, surrounded by like-minded people — he wasn’t just driving…

He was growing.

He was belonging.

He was living.
 

This journey isn’t just about racing. It’s about showing what’s possible when we support young people who think differently. It’s about proving that autism doesn’t limit potential — it redirects it.
