The Journey So Far
Welcome to George's driving journey! We accidentally discovered an obsession with motorsport in half term October 2023. Bored and wanting to do something out of the house we booked a session at Teamsport in Coventry. He loved it and the staff were fabulous so we signed up for the Academy.
Over the next few months George came out of his shell whenever he was at the track. As an autistic child who didn't cope at school he had suddenly found his place. It was amazing to see a different boy appear when he got the track. He started to talk to people, even to strangers there. He made amazing new friends and messages them away from the track. Might seem normal for a 14 year old boy but it's been a revelation for George.
The staff have been the greatest support and have gentle pushed him to go faster and further. Suggesting he takes part in BIKC (British Indoor Championship) and pointing him towards more competitive outdoor tracks.
Coventry
First lap time: 55.370
Current lap time: 39.956 (7 months later)
So after finding his feet at Coventry and competing really well in the League there we've been trying out Teamsport tracks closest to us.
Sheffield he loves and put down a pretty good time quickly. Leeds the staff and members were fantastic and pushed him landing him with a great time in one night. Leicester was hilarious as an observer as it's crazy slippy and karts spin and finally Nottingham with the electrics karts that he adjusted to very well and again got a super time!
In July we've been talking to an outdoor karting team and we are hoping to move to more competitive driving outdoors and continue to push forward.

To reach the dream of international championships and the almost impossible dream of Formula 4 it's time for us to build connections and start getting sponsorship. A totally daunting task but essential in this sport.
